So I was sitting in my psych class right and I got a bit bored so I ended up switching my tabs to check some football highlights and I realise something: There are some players who are impossible to recreate. Now I don't mean Messi or Ronaldo, they were out of the world during their era and had been consistent for way too long to even be compared. I'm talking about Neymar, Dinho, Ozil etc.

I started off by watching Messi's highlights and its unbelievable, the things he did but I feel like what he did, mostly the dribbling, was still achievable by someone if they have been playing football since the age of 5 or so, take Brahim Diaz for example. But its the consistency and the passes, vision and shooting along with the dribbling that made Messi the GOAT so we are gonna leave that aside. I switched to Ozil highlights and then Neymar and Dinho. And I realised, for the few years or games that they played out of this world for, they were unmatchable, impossible to recreate. Neymar in Santos and Barca, Dinho getting applauded by the Bernabeau and Ozil in his Arsenal and Madrid times were unbeatable. You could not catch Ney or Dinho, you could not stop Ozil's passes or imagine the things he saw. Many people call it the "purple patch" of the player ;i.e., when the player was outrageously good but then fell off after that. When you watch them, you simply cannot even imagine yourself doing the same thing that they did, its impossible, out of this world. I tend to believe that even players like Messi or Ronaldo during their 'normal' times would not be able to reach the purple patch times of these players. A lot of people have to realise that I'm not talking about the goals or assists that they created, I'm simply talking about the aura that they had, the way no one in the world could stop them even if they wanted to. The pure entertainment that they could create by just stepping on the pitch was unmatched.
